We can’t end homelessness in Blount County without your help.

Volunteers and supporters make our mission possible, and your support helps to ensure everyone in our community can have a place to call home. If you or your faith community, group, or organization want to contribute, please reach out to learn more about our specific needs today and see where your generous volunteer hours can make a difference in the lives of our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

URGENT CALL FOR SLEEPING BAGS - 10-20

Hey, Folks. We have an emergency situation and urgently need your help! Temperatures coming up are going to be well below freezing day and night. Some of our folks will be in the warming shelter at night when it’s 25 degrees and below and outside in the day. The temps you see below fall on the holidays, and places where they would normally find warmth will be closed. There is not enough availability in the motels to place everyone. If you can donate a sleeping bag or two, you would be someone’s hero through the holiday and winter season, certainly mine. You can reach out at Info@aplacetostaybc.org. Your donations can be dropped off at our resource center located inside the Blount County Public Library. Ask for A Place to Stay, and someone will direct you to us.
A Place to Stay and our Partners are working on shelter and better solutions for our friends, but it can’t come quick enough and truly is a community effort. To get involved, please visit our website at www.aplacetostaybc.org. Thank you in advance for your support.
Warmly,
Mandy Proffitt
Executive Director
