We can’t end homelessness in Blount County without your help.
Volunteers and supporters make our mission possible, and your support helps to ensure everyone in our community can have a place to call home. If you or your faith community, group, or organization want to contribute, please reach out to learn more about our specific needs today and see where your generous volunteer hours can make a difference in the lives of our neighbors experiencing homelessness.
Ways to volunteer include helping in Community Outreach Office, with Street Outreach, at the Warming Shelter, with event planning or publicity, or serving on a APTS Board committee
Current Volunteer Needs
Street Outreach Services Day is January 14, noon-3 p.m., Monte Vista Baptist Church. Could you volunteer for awhile between 10:30-4 to set up, break down, assist neighbors, serve drinks and food, check in, or just hang out? All are welcome for this day of service and fellowship. Contact volunteer@aplacetostaybc.org to volunteer.
Preparing & support services for 3 temporary spaces of rest for our neighbors experiencing homelessness
Partnering with a local organization, A Place to Stay is preparing three temporary spaces of rest for our neighbors experiencing homelessness. To complete the space and provide supportive services, we are in need of the following:
1 (or 2) Full-Size Bed(s)
2 (or 3) Twin-Size Beds
Volunteer Hosts – 2-hr slots and overnight hosts; preferably male-female teams
Warm Meals for guests
For the safety and health of our neighbors, we respectfully ask that all mattresses be in new condition.
Your gift is so appreciated.
